New Horn Exercises, Peak Performance books, and more!

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been working on adding some more information to some of my horn resources pages. If you haven’t checked these out recently, you should!

  • Horn Exercises page – Not only have I added 1- and 2-octave scale sheets for all the minor scale forms, lip trills, and a buzzing sheet, but I also have updated both pages of lip slurs! I’ve also started writing a little bit about¬†how to use these exercises in your warm-up, practice, and playing with longer-form pages. Currently, I’ve covered long tones, lip slurs, and buzzing, but I’ve got more in the works,!
  • Horn Music page – While I’ve added a couple of pieces of music (mostly notably the Shoemaker Etudes used in KY All-State) I’ve also added a new “Peak Performance” section with some books recommended for improving performance, reducing anxiety/nerves, and being more productive in the practice room – check them out!
  • Horn Mouthpiece page – I’ve tried to organize this as a more easily searchable table, and I’ve continued to add any new models and makers that I find. However, if I’ve missed something, please let me know in the comments!

As always, if you’re interested in more information, or have a suggestion, feel free to either contact me via email or social media¬†or just leave a comment below!
