First World Problems, Vol. 1 1

I’m pretty sure my podcast listening has turned into a minor obsession/addiction. Right now, my regularly updated BeyondPod subscription consists of the following, (in alphabetical order):

  1. 99% Invisible
  2. Common Sense with Dan Carlin
  3. Criminal
  4. Hardcore History with Dan Carlin
  5. Freakonomics Radio
  6. Jordan, Jesse, GO!
  7. Judge John Hodgman
  8. NPR: Cartalk
  9. Skeptoid
  10. Song Exploder
  11. Stuff You Missed In History Class
  12. Stuff You Should Know
  13. Superego
  14. The Alton Browncast
  15. The Bugle
  16. The Daily Show Podcast (without Jon Stewart)
  17. The Memory Palace
  18. The Nerdist
  19. TL;DR
  20. Undisclosed
  21. Welcome to Nightvale

And I have about 4 or 5 others that I listen to if I find the guest or the topic interesting.

Since I’m slightly obsessive, I’ve started just about all of these at the beginning (although I will occasionally skip an episode if it’s not very interesting to me), which means not only do I have a lot of podcast subscriptions, I have quite a backlog of some of these. I’m pretty caught up with the ones that I’ve been listening to for awhile (Nerdist, Cartalk, Freakonomics) but some of the ones I just started (Stuff You Should Know) have a long way to go (over 700 episodes).

These podcasts are also cutting into potential Netflix time – I started Mad Men about a month ago, but haven’t even finished season 1 yet. Plus, I haven’t even started Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, or House of Cards.┬áJessica and I are also a season behind in Doctor Who and Louie.

First world problems are the worst.
