A Little Hope

If you’re reading this from anywhere in America, you’ve probably been caught up one way or another in the protests across the country about the recent murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and most recently, David McAtee at the hands of the police.

Compared to these tragedies, I don’t have much to say today.

But I did want to offer something.

It may be a little bit trite, but this video of Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” always gives me inspiration and hope.

It’s my hope that it gives you a little bit of hope today, too.

Stay safe.

Edit: I was recently introduced to a piece premiered in 2015 by composer Joel Thompson called Seven Last Words of the Unarmed based on the last words spoken by unarmed black men before being killed by police.

It’s an incredible work.
