Over the past couple of months, I’ve been working on adding some more information to some of my horn resources pages. If you haven’t checked these out recently, you should!
- Horn Exercises page – Not only have I added 1- and 2-octave scale sheets for all the minor scale forms, lip trills, and a buzzing sheet, but I also have updated both pages of lip slurs! I’ve also started writing a little bit about how to use these exercises in your warm-up, practice, and playing with longer-form pages. Currently, I’ve covered long tones, lip slurs, and buzzing, but I’ve got more in the works,!
- Horn Music page – While I’ve added a couple of pieces of music (mostly notably the Shoemaker Etudes used in KY All-State) I’ve also added a new “Peak Performance” section with some books recommended for improving performance, reducing anxiety/nerves, and being more productive in the practice room – check them out!
- Horn Mouthpiece page – I’ve tried to organize this as a more easily searchable table, and I’ve continued to add any new models and makers that I find. However, if I’ve missed something, please let me know in the comments!
As always, if you’re interested in more information, or have a suggestion, feel free to either contact me via email or social media or just leave a comment below!
