Horn Nerd: Meticulous Terms Edition

The more that I teach, the more I find that I get surprisingly pedantic about certain things.

  • You push down valves (or levers), but not buttons.
  • You learn etudes, pieces, or works, but not songs.
  • A trumpet (or, God forbid, a saxophone) is not a horn.

And now a new one from HornMatters:

Both 100% true and delightfully pedantic!

This may be the new “get off my lawn” for horn teachers!
